The Second Jornada

Every 3 months we are hosting a 1 week long intensive for Global students that wish to attend.  The students travel in to Barquisimeto to receive instruction of materials that they have been studying.  In the states we refer to this as a cohort or intensive but here it is called Las Jornadas Intensivas.  It is always a very busy week as students are in classes from 7 am until 7 pm.  During this time we were blessed to have visitors from the states here to teach 2 of the classes.  We hosted them in our home & our boys thoroughly enjoyed making new friends as did we.  They really enjoyed that these ladies spoke english!!!
Evelyn Klingler has been a missionary for almost 20 years to Peru & Honduras.  She now serves as the Latin American & Caribbean Director for Global University in Springfield, MO.  She was excited to be able to visit us, teach for Global, & had several other ministry opportunities while here.  We also welcomed Abigail Bogarin.  Abi is from Paraguay but has lived in the states for many years.  She is an editor but also

has a desire to minister abroad & enjoys preaching & speaking to others.  We had a great time of ministry and fellowship and both ladies were excited to be introduced to the world of
"Patacones".  Here in Venezuela there are several popular national plates.  Patacones are crispy plantains covered in lettuce, tomato, meats, & cheese.  And yes... they are quite yummy!
