Plans, Prayers, & Progress....

Where do I begin....

Life has indeed been quite nuts for the Nelson family!  Therapy, doctors, holidays, birthdays, & re-adjustment back to life as we once knew it to be.

Our boys have thoroughly enjoyed much needed time with friends & family.  We have been blessed to have the help of these wonderful people as we have had so many appointments to address Chris's recovery needs.

So far, the boys are doing well.  I will admit that I have already heard comments about how they miss Venezuela & their friends back there.  The life of a missionary kid can be quite challenging, but I am confident that I am raising 3 fine young men. For now I will continue to encourage them & love them through those sad moments of missing friends, family, & those special stuffed animals that had to stay far away.

Chris is doing fabulous!  His healing is nothing short of miraculous.  He still has a ways to go but the progress that we see daily continues to "wow" all who see him.  We have been beyond blessed with a wonderful therapist who is helping him to regain the movement in his arm & hands.  Our doctors have all been so great!  We did have one little "oops" with one of them, but after a little persistence & much prayer, God provided us with another doctor & we are very pleased.  We are continuing to trust that God will provide everything we need as he has so far.  What an awesome God to care about even the smallest details of our lives!

As for me, I am doing well.  I am wife, mommie, therapist, doctor, chauffeur, chef, secretary, lawyer, settler of disputes, missionary, and probably other things that escape me at the moment because I am exhausted! (ha ha) But through it all God has given me amazing peace & strength & I know that it has been because of the many prayers that each of you have prayed for our family.

So.....  What's next for the Nelson 5?

We are continuing therapy... therapy.... & more therapy!  We also will be attending missions meetings in Springfield this June so we are very excited to have the opportunity to see many wonderful friends.

Our kids are looking forward to kid's camp this summer & if all goes well, Chris is looking forward to a much needed return trip to Venezuela with a team that we had previously planned.  Being involved with the many ministries we are in Venezuela, just disappearing without notice doesn't work very well.  He will only be there long enough to tie up loose ends & re-assure the Venezuelan people that he is okay.  Many of them have been praying fervently for his healing & we are pleased that they will have the opportunity to see that their prayers are being answered.

But don't worry.... he isn't going down alone! (ha ha) And he will only be gone for 2 weeks.  We hope that July will begin a time of part time itineration & that September we will be full steam ahead. We are excited about the opportunity to come & share about the wonderful things happening in Venezuela! Please keep us in your prayers that Chris's recovery will keep progressing so we can get on doing the things that we know God has called our family to do.

As for now, I will call this post done.  I promise to update more often now that life is a little more settled. :)
