Whirl Wind of a Weekend!

This weekend has been filled with excitement, anticipation, anxiety, & plenty of other adjectives that I can't think of right now.   We have been planning for some time that this past weekend would be the start to a VERY busy summer.  Chris flew into NC for a whirlwind adventure!  The plan was to fly in, have a few very important meetings, participate in the commissioning of the AIM team that was being sent out of Raleigh First Assembly to Panama,  collect ministry supplies while seeing his Mom & family, and end it all by bringing our summer intern Stacey & my Mom to Venezuela.  It was quite the full weekend for my energetic husband!  We are so thankful that everything went as planned!  Our gratitude goes out to our dear friends in Raleigh that took such good care of Chris while he was traveling.  He was able to get everything we needed & even some fun goodies & surprises for our boys.
Today ended the crazy adventure as the team of 3 left Raleigh.  An added bonus for Chris was the chance to see our 2 nieces, Amber & Anna.  They came along with their mom & dad to drop Nana off at the airport.  We always love every opportunity we get to see the girls so this was a special treat for Chris as well as for the girls since Uncle Chris even bought them some Silly Bandz as a treat.  He is such a charmer!  As I type the team of 3 are in the air making their way to Venezuela.  Our kids are on cloud 9 waiting to see their Nana again & are excited to meet Stacey.  They LOVE teenagers!  I have no doubt that this will indeed be a summer that none of us will ever forget!  God has amazing plans for Venezuela and we are so happy to be a part of it.  There is so much to do to get everything ready for our AIM team in a month.  It is going to be fabulous!
Now I need to get all of the last minute things done around here.  In the early morning, the fun begins!  Please keep Chris, my Mom, & Stacey in your prayers as they travel from the airport to the city we live in.  That trip can be an adventure all by itself!  I will keep everyone posted with lots of new stories.... I am sure there will be plenty!
