Trip to Coro

This past weekend our family was invited to come and speak in the small town of Coro, Venezuela.  Originally, this weekend was to be a set of youth services but as is common here, when we arrived, that had all changed.  We traveled about 7 hours to get there friday & that night Chris preached to an audience of many ages.  Saturday was began by a workshop promoting Global University.  This church is going to be a "Centro de Aprendezaje"  which means it is a learning center for Global.  That night was followed by a service specifically geared toward youth where Chris spoke for a 3rd time.  Sunday morning was the final service.  Chris did an excellent job with all of these services as he was preaching in spanish the whole time.  Many were saved & filled with the spirit.  It was a great time of ministry.
As far as all the other stuff goes.... Our boys hung in there pretty well.  The car ride was LONG & the city was fairly hot.  We stayed in a bed & breakfast of sorts but nothing like what you would find back home.  However, it was sufficient & the owners were very friendly.  The church provided us great food & made sure to cook things especially for our boys which was a huge blessing!  The people were very friendly & kind.  They even found small mattresses for me to lay Ian & Imanuel on when they both fell asleep on me during the friday evening service.  It was a very full weekend.  Isaiah made friends with the band because, after all, he is just like his daddy!  Everyone thought Isaiah was wonderful.  He felt special each night practicing the drums & helping them set up the instruments for the worship services.
We extended our time there by one evening because there had been no time for our kids to see the ocean.  Because of so many services all of which lasted for over 4 hours each, our
kids thought they would never see "the beach!"  We drove for about an hour until we finally just pulled off the road & drove over the sand to part of the coastline.  The water & part of the beach where the tide comes in & reaches was beautiful.  Every other part was very dirty & full of trash where these beaches are not maintained.  The boys played for about 3 hours.  It was great for them to have a chance to run.  This photo is of the boys with our friend & one of Chris's office assistants, Angélica.  She went along

on the trip to help out with the Global workshop.  It was a great time but we were of course glad to make it back home.  Thanks for all of your prayers.  As I write, Chris is gone again!  Thanks for making it possible for us to travel & minister to these amazing people!

  1. Awesome preaching Chris!I know handling 3 kids through very long services while Chris was up front was not easy either Angela. But God was faithful to provide those to help you with mats, etc....God is good! Glad you were able to take some family time at the beach as well. Those times are just as important as the more "spiritual" times.
