After 4 years of processing paperwork, itinerating, & learning the language... it was finally time to head to the country of our calling. Only Jan.16, 2009 we boarded a plane with 2 adults, 3 children, 5 backpacks, 5 rolling bags, & 18 black boxes to head to a country that I personally had never even visited. It was scary, exciting, & peaceful all at the same time. We arrived at the airport & after much chaos trying to get all of our belongings to the correct place, were greeted by another missionary family that help get us to our place to stay for the evening. Two days later we loaded a Speed the Light pick-up truck belonging to another missionary with us & all of our stuff & headed 5 hours across the country to the city of Barquisimeto. As long as the Lord sees fit, we will call this city home.
