Now that my updates are finished, I can get back to a normal blogging schedule.
So, what is the Nelson family doing right now? Teams are gone... weddings are complete.... what could be happening now?
The middle of August we began moving... AGAIN! This time we moved to a house that is actually owned by a Methodist missionary here in Venezuela. God has opened every door & we are very excited to finally have a house that is large enough for our family as well as for the large amount of hosting that we often do. We spent several days painting & cleaning the entire house! We were quite thankful for the help of our team along the way.
The next step was 2 trips to a location about an hour away where our belongings were stored for over a year. Thankfully, we finally have all of our "stuff" in one location! This is something to shout about!!!!!
So as for now, I am still unpacking & washing EVERYTHING! All linens, clothes, towels, curtains... anything made out of cloth has to be washed! I think I will be washing until Christmas!! I am also preparing to begin our home school year on tuesday. The boys are quite excited! I can't believe I will have a 2nd grader, a 5th grader, & a 6th grader!
Chris has been extra busy over the pass 2 weeks. As if moving was enough, he also received the printers from the shipping company that were sent the end of May. Thanks to First Assembly of God in Albemarle, NC for sending them & David Seaford in Concord NC for buying them several years ago. It has been a long process to get them here but God obviously has big plans for the printing press that will begin out of our Esperanza office very soon. We will be providing printed resources to thousands all over the country!
Chris & Henry preparing to unpack the crates! |
Chris has also been teaching for the Venezuelan Assemblies of God's School of Missions. He always loves training Venezuelans to be missionaries throughout the world!
Once my house is in better order to where it is not completely embarrassing, I will post a few pictures! On a side note, can you get what the crates above are padded with???? Let me help you out... Brand new rolls of American brand paper towels! We have 7 huge black trash bags FULL of paper towels! And these suckers are 2 ply! Now I can make homemade clorox wipes! I am quite the happy camper. And yes, we shared several bags of them with others too!
A few prayer points....
please pray that Chris can get some much needed rest next week!
Also that we will finally be able to get a vehicle. We will be replacing our previous Speed the Light vehicle (the one that is a pancake) with a much needed ministry vehicle that will be used by the many ministries that we are currently over. It will serve as transportation for us until our personal STL vehicle can be purchased this fall. It has been no easy task being without a car for 2 months! Public transportation here is often dangerous & can get expensive. We are praying for God's perfect timing!
