Still Healing.....

I was going through some photos & realized that I had not posted any from Chris's recent surgery.  I thought many of you would enjoy a little "surgical update" of sorts.

Below you will see Chris's hand when the first wrapping was removed 2 weeks post surgery.  You can see where the incision was made where the doctor removed the damaged bone.  You can also see an incision on his forearm.  That place is where the tendon was cut that was then pulled down his forearm & looped to form a cushion where the old bone was.  It is amazing what doctors can do!

This is the picture of Chris's new cast.  Notice that even though he is quite fond of the Duke Health System, he was still quick to sport his preference for those Tarheels! (They are up by 3 against Duke as I type!)

And finally in this little update....

This is a picture of the piece of glass we removed from Chris's elbow on Monday.  For a while he thought it was a screw, then when it started moving the conclusion was scar tissue.  But when I bumped into his arm & it began bleeding, we decided otherwise.  The cube of glass was between 4-5mm in size.  It is quite possible that there is still a bit more but only time will tell, I mean after all, this one took 11 months to finally show itself.
