A Day to Remember: Happy Birthday Ian!

Today is one of those special days in a mother's life.  Today I remember the events of an ordeal that changed our lives forever.  Today is the birthday of my "Sweet Beefy Boy", Ian.  Has 9 years really passed by this quickly? Ian's time of arrival was so critical because it led up to a 15 month military deployment for Chris.  He left when Ian was just 3 months old.  


So many things define you as a person.  


Chris's time in Iraq... 
Me being home with 2 small babies alone for over a year... 
Chris's adjustment home & our adventures with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) And for those that wonder... yes, it is real! 
And of course, who could forget our most recent installment of craziness... THE BUS ACCIDENT! 
All quite defining... but none quite as defining as the births of our 3 boys.


     We have been blessed with many incredible opportunities, adventures, & blessings. Ian has indeed been all 3! Being his mom has been an amazing opportunity.  He is going to be an amazing man when he is all grown up.  He is definitely one of our biggest adventures! He hasn't slowed down since entering the world 9 years ago! And he is a great blessing.  Ian sees things like no one else & has a generous heart.


So in an attempt to show you some of his amazing attributes... (Most of which come from his Mom) *smile*

May I present.......  The ABC's of Ian:

A.  Ian is a very "Analytical" boy needing to process every detail before he can relax.
B.  He is our "Beefy Boy" even though he is very close in size to his younger brother now.
C.  He is "Compassionate"
D. He is "Daring".... This mama's heart has skipped a beat on more than 1 occasion! 
E. He has LOTS of "Energy!"
F. He is very "Forgiving"
G. His love language is receiving "Gifts"
H. He loves to be a "Helper" especially when money is involved! (ha ha)
I. He is a very "Intelligent" little guy but tends to be the most "Introverted" of the 3 boys.
J. He loves most any kind of "Junk food"
K. He is a fan of most "Kellogg's" products... especially Froot Loops.
L. He has a wonderful "Laugh"... but is also very "LOUD" much of the time.
M. He is very "Mathematical!"
N. He is an intricate part of the "Nelson 5".
O. He often likes the "Opposite" of what his older brother chooses! 
P. He is persistant! He never gives up
Q. He is always able to find a "Quarter"... sometimes 2 or 3!
R. He loves to "Record" his own video clips. I think he is a videographer in the making!
S. Ian loves "Sugar!" It makes his world go 'round.
T. He is the king of "Technology" within our family!
U. He prefers Boxer "Underwear!" (I knew everybody was dying to know!)
V. He loves "Video Games" & is very good at figuring them out!
W. He is always "Willing" to lend a hand.
X. He is "X-tra" excited that today is his birthday!
Y. He loves playing in the "Yard", especially when he has someone to play with.
Z. He often gets in what we call the "Beefy Zone"... It's his own little world!
