Happy Birthday Imanuel....

I can't believe it!  My baby somehow has reached the ripe ole' age of 6!  Who told him that he was allowed to be so old?  I certainly didn't give him permission to grow up so fast!

Well, regardless of my desires to keep him little forever, Imanuel is indeed growing up & we have been truly blessed to have him as part of our family for the past 6 years.

He is our joy in the morning & our calming smile at night.  God has used this little man to impact our family in such a special way.  Even his brothers, who still argue & scream with him like normal brothers do, love their "baby" as he has always been.  They can't stand for him to be upset unless they are the ones causing the grief, of course!

I look forward to watching Imanuel continue to grow.  Though I wish he could stay small forever, I know that most likely I will have to face the reality that he won't.

I am thankful for this precious little life that makes all of the rest of our lives so much sweeter!

Imanuel wanted a bicycle & to eat at McDonald's for his special day.  So, his Daddy & he took off on his birthday to find that special bike.  Unfortunately, ALL of the stores downtown were still closed.  Many of them will stay closed for as much as a month & a half for the holidays!  Chris was starting to stress as he looked in the back seat at the bright eyed little 6 year old that was expecting a bright, shiny, new bike!  Chris began to silently pray & ask God to give him guidance as to where to look.  No sooner than he said "Amen", Imanuel yells out, " Daddy, there's a bike!"  Chris looked & sitting on the side of the road in front of a run down looking building was 1 bright, shiny, red, Imanuel sized bike with training wheels! (This was an important detail)

Chris bought the bike & Imanuel was so thrilled to bring it home & show it off to his big brothers!  As Chris told me this story, I was reminded of just how much God loves us.  What a precious story of God's desire to make us smile.  He knows exactly what we need & sometimes He even provides us a little of what we want!
