As of this month, Chris & I are the new directors for Latin American Child Care here in Venezuela. So I know you are asking.... What is LACC????? This program is unique to the Assemblies of God & works with local pastors that want to have a school in their churches. Sponsors are found to support the students which helps to off set the cost of tuition & uniforms. Typically, these schools are in lower income areas. The desire is to not only give these children an education, but also to teach them values & about the love of Jesus.
We received a special visit from Phil Schmidt (the Director for all of LACC for the A/G), & Mike Files (the director for South America). It was a great time since we don't get too many visit from North Americans. We learned a lot & are excited about the things that God has in store for Venezuela through this program. Currently we only have 1 LACC school in the country. We hope to increase that number after we return from our next itineration.
