Perspective
Just when you thought that the line at the grocery store or the bank was way too long, we wanted to help give you a positive perspective. You know, the whole glass half full / half empty principle. We tried to pay our staff & the bank transfer didn't work out so we headed to the bank to get what they needed. When you arrive at the bank you take a ticket. The ticket tells you how many people are in front of you, the time you pulled the ticket, & the number that you will look for to know when it is your turn. Our number was 362. The INSANE part was that there were 397 people waiting in front of us! We waited for a LONG time & Chris kept checking back to see the progress of the numbers. Finally, the last time he returned he found that the bank was closed! Needless to say we left the bank with no money, a frustrated husband, tired children, & another task started that took forever & still wasn't completed. It was recently published that the average Venezuelan spends an estimated 1/3 of their life waiting in lines. Even in the craziness of our economy back home, we look forward to going to the bank again one day & only having a few people in front of us! The next time you are waiting in a line, please remember to pray for those that live in other countries. Chances are, we are waiting in a line too!
